[UlziX] Summary of Recent Important Updates

The following is a summary of all important changes and adjustments this month. You may focus only on the free-zone content; everything else is a general summary and can be disregarded.

1. Renewal System Logic Update

We recently optimized the renewal verification logic. The system will now strictly verify the billing status associated with each renewal.

As a result, some renewal orders previously processed manually by administrators without a corresponding valid invoice may be automatically identified as abnormal by the new system. Their validity periods will then be restored to the actual expiration period specified by the invoice (this issue generally will not occur).

:pushpin: If you find that your instance’s expiration time differs from what you expected, please submit a ticket promptly. We will issue a supplementary invoice for you.

2. Migration Plan for Hong Kong Zone 14 (Free Zone)

The free upstream service provider will terminate service and wipe all data ahead of schedule on August 27. All instances in Zone 14 have now been cleared.

Migration Plan Adjustments

Considering some users’ genuine need for free cloud services, we have reevaluated the migration plan:

Users who manually migrated to Hong Kong Special Zone 1 before 8:00 a.m. on August 27 will be considered active users with a genuine need for free cloud services (since they noticed their servers going offline within a day). They will be assigned to a brand-new premium U.S. physical host (moving zones is a genuine upgrade, with no aspect inferior to Zone 14’s international route, so we believe no one will object ).

:united_states: The new host uses a route on the same tier as U.S. Zones 19 and 20: a premium CN2-CMIN2 route:

  • Better network performance than the former Hong Kong Zone 14

  • Stronger streaming-media unlocking capabilities

  • A genuine upgrade when changing zones

New Zone Usage Rules

Item Description
Upload bandwidth Up to 20 Mbps (allocated according to the original instance’s bandwidth)
Download bandwidth Up to 100 Mbps (allocated according to the original instance’s bandwidth)
Bandwidth usage Continuously occupying the full bandwidth for more than 10 minutes is prohibited; violations will be handled according to the rules
Complaint handling We will verify complaints and trace the source of bandwidth usage (we will conduct real investigations rather than merely making statements)

Note: The first five batches of products were advertised as being available for unlimited use, and we will prioritize honoring that commitment. Starting with the sixth batch, the latest expiration date will follow the November 11 deadline stated in the Zone 14 invitation. If resources become tight later, we may release your instance (if it operates well, restrictions may be reviewed).

Service Support

  • Basic ticket support (response within 72 hours)

  • Hosted in a paid data center, not the former free upstream provider for Zone 14

  • We promise that, barring unforeseen data-center incidents, there will be no further zone changes

:pushpin: Additional note: This zone is currently hosted in the same data center as U.S. Zone 20. U.S. Zone 19 uses independent servers (a premium-quality zone). Although they share the same IP range, it has no direct connection with either of these two zones.

The specific access method will be announced after migration is complete. Please watch for updates in the channel.

3. Full Migration of Hong Kong Zone 16 to Zone 20 (Completed)

Due to ongoing network attacks, the original Hong Kong Zone 16 has been fully replaced with the new Hong Kong Zone 20. Instances from Zone 16 have been rebuilt on the new nodes and can now be used normally.

This Migration Is a Free Upgrade

Item Change
Configuration and bandwidth Unchanged
CPU E5 → Gold-series processor (improved performance)
Route CTG-CN2 → Optimized across all three networks · CN2+CUVIP+CMI
Latency Significantly reduced; some regions can reach under 15 ms across all three networks
Protection IP includes 5 Gbps of basic protection, effectively mitigating ordinary attacks

The new nodes offer significantly improved network quality and stability. Thank you all for your continued patience and support :folded_hands:

4. Temporary Reactivation of the Old Hong Kong Zone 16 Host (Data Backup Reminder)

The old physical host in Hong Kong Zone 16 has been temporarily brought back online. Users who previously used this zone should log in to their instances using the root credentials they saved and retrieve any necessary data as soon as possible.

:alarm_clock: This node will be officially wiped at 8:00 a.m. on August 27 (tomorrow). All data will then be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

After the wipe, this node will be used to deploy Hong Kong Zone 14 (subject to change). Please watch for further announcements in the channel.

5. Hong Kong Zone 17 Memory Expansion (Completed)

The physical nodes in Hong Kong Zone 17 have all received their memory upgrades. Instances are being powered back on and restored in stages.

:pushpin: If your instance is still experiencing problems or cannot connect normally, please submit a ticket promptly.

6. Historical Events

Hong Kong Zone 16 Attack and Compensation Plan

Hong Kong Zone 16 previously suffered nearly three days of sustained high-volume attacks, causing network instability and even connection failures. We sincerely apologize.

Compensation plan:

  • :pushpin: Hong Kong Zone 16 users could submit a ticket to receive one free 1H128M machine in any equivalent zone (ended)

Notes:

  1. Because the original Zone 16 host was targeted by attacks, this data center will no longer be used

  2. Please do not renew after using the first billing cycle (one month)

  3. The product has now been completely delisted

Canada Zone 3 Fault Repair

The system issue in Canada Zone 3 has been fixed. All affected instances have been rebuilt and can now be used normally.

IDC is really hard to do.

Uh, admin, isn’t this announcement a bit rushed? The time given isn’t enough either. It’s 9 a.m. on the 27th now, and you posted it 10 hours ago, saying the migration needs to be done before 8 a.m. on the 27th.

I originally didn’t want to make an announcement, because only by not making an announcement can you see who actually needs and uses the service (since the users will quickly notice disconnections and find the migration to Special Zone 1 option when opening their orders). But I still made a post 10 hours ago to publicly share some of the things I’ve been working on recently.

I didn’t move to Region 1, so why did it end up setting me to the US?

That’s right.

Tell me what’s changed compared to the original Special Zone 1 (apart from the server region).

There’s definitely been a change in the delay.

Whether it’s gotten faster or slower, whether it’s useless or has been replaced—none of the aspects have actually worsened. Don’t keep nitpicking. If you’re having so many problems, you can send me your order ID, because it doesn’t seem like you’re actually an active user with real needs for the free cloud.

It’s getting better and better! Check out this expert’s summary!

After migrating from the TE1 region to the US region, is the user data gone? I found that the things deployed yesterday are no longer usable.
