The Principle That the Happier Person Gives Way
Next time, we need chicken.
Hitting a traffic cop—is it really that brutal?
As long as they’re okay.
Then you’re most likely either fully or equally at fault, increasing the cost of the losses.
There’s not much I can do—I can only chalk this up to bad luck. Fortunately, I made several concessions, so although I feel a bit uncomfortable, I suffered virtually no loss. Filing a subrogation claim, making things difficult for the other party, and obtaining all their information as a precaution will be enough.
“Chicken-free talk” is one of the themes of my post.
Yes, it’s really disgusting.
Luckily, I gave way, so neither I nor my car suffered much damage. It’s just that I still feel a bit uncomfortable about it. My own losses are practically nonexistent; I’ll just have the insurer pursue recovery from the other party to give them a bit of a headache, and get all their information as a precaution. That should be enough.
He wouldn’t dare do it right under the camera.
It’s hard to come up with a solution, and there’s not much we can do. We’ll just have to accept our bad luck and go through the subrogation process to make the other party uncomfortable, obtain all their information, and protect ourselves. There’s no other way. The dashcam only captured a small part of what happened, so it can’t be used as evidence.
That’s what you call a road bully: even after being given way to repeatedly, they still force a collision and show absolutely no gratitude. It was something that could’ve been resolved with a simple “thank you”—or at least an apology afterward if they did hit someone.
It was entirely his fault. I got his information. What a joke—he claims to be a ten-year veteran driver, but he’s only been driving for four years, or three at most in reality. People like him are road bullies: they haven’t driven for long, yet they’re arrogant. It’s hard to do anything about him over this, and I’d also be breaking the law if I exposed his personal information.
This could work, but it’s also difficult. Without solid evidence, it’ll just turn into a pointless back-and-forth.
Old cliché; smoothing things over
Yes, mainly because it’s disgusting.
Look at who’s riding in the other person’s car. If it’s women and children, get under their skin; if it’s an elderly person, insult his mother. But the other person has to insult your mother first—otherwise, you might get beaten up.
It doesn’t feel good. In the end, all that happens is that you file a subrogation claim and obtain the other party’s complete information. Other than making each other miserable and wasting some time, the other party suffers no loss whatsoever—it’s only a hundred or two yuan. They don’t even lose any points, and their insurance premiums won’t go up.
There’s no helping it—these days, the victims are often the vulnerable.
