A word about Claude and ChatGPT: using these AIs doesn’t require a residential IP

A few words about Claude and ChatGPT: you don’t need a residential IP to use these AIs.

I’ve seen a lot of people talking about avoiding bans and looking for residential broadband connections. Actually, it’s completely unnecessary.

AI has far more use cases on remote servers than at home, whether domestically or abroad. Many people overseas deploy agents on remote servers, so there’s really no need to use a residential connection.

That said, you should pay attention to the system language and time zone.

I’ve been running this Claude Max 20X setup for two months now, and I basically use up almost the entire allowance every week. It’s still very stable. The only things I do are:

  1. Use a fixed VPS IP and don’t switch around.
  2. Set the time zone and system language to English.

That’s it. Very stable.

Indeed, that’s the case.

I have a server in Singapore. Can you make it work? I’m currently the only one using the IP.

A static IP is really important!

Maybe my account just has a different profile. I regularly switch between multiple nodes for both GPT and Claude (Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the US, and the UK), but the account has remained completely stable. (My Claude account was banned after using SEPA for two weeks—I don’t know whether it was because of the IP or the SEPA issue.) Also, none of the nodes has a purity score below 60% (the lower the score, the cleaner the node).

These days, it’s all about appearances. My old GPT account frequently changes IP addresses and still doesn’t get banned.

This kind of thing requires a static IP address.
