Eternal Station 1080

The film constructs a whimsical afterlife world: after death, people arrive at a transit station connected to countless “eternal worlds,” where once chosen, there’s no going back. The story begins with a bizarre opening scene where Ray (Miles Teller) dies from choking on a butter cookie. He regains his youth at the transit station, waiting for his wife Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) to arrive. However, upon Joan’s arrival, she faces a new challenge—her deceased ex-husband Luke (Cale Makerech), who has been waiting for her for 67 years.

Two men compete to win Joan’s final choice, engaging in a series of hilarious “rivalries.” Various absurd contests transform what should be a serious eternal decision into a delightful “love competition.” Faced with the array of life possibilities presented by the transit station, Joan must choose between her current husband, who shares a long history filled with memories of daily life, and her former lover Luke, who has been waiting for her for 67 years. She must decide whom to take with her into eternity?

Recommend the Netflix series Kim’s Convenience—it’s a very interesting show about the life of a Korean-Canadian immigrant family in Canada. Some things you can only understand if you’re Asian. I’ve watched the entire series three times already.
