No VPN, access Discord using Steamcommunity 302 in China

Steamcommunity 302 is not a VPN service; it modifies system network settings to allow domestic access to Discord.

Many people in China use a VPN to access Discord, but this can easily trigger Discord’s anomaly detection leading to account bans, and may also violate network management regulations.

Actually, there’s a safer method: using Steamcommunity 302. It supports computers running Windows, MacOS, and Linux. However, it’s not recommended for mobile devices.

It doesn’t use a VPN; instead, it directly modifies your computer’s network configuration to enable Discord access from within China, displaying a Chinese IP address, which minimizes the risk of account bans.

The setup is simple. First, download the tool from the author’s blog at https://www.dogfight360.com/blog/18682 and extract it. It’s recommended to extract it into an English folder; using a Chinese folder might cause issues.

For Windows, right-click on Steamcommunity_302.exe and select “Run as administrator.” MacOS and Linux users can find relevant tutorials on the author’s blog.

After opening it, check the Discord option and make sure to start the service. Then you can directly open Discord. If you can’t connect, try restarting your browser or Discord app. If it still doesn’t work, click the stop service button and restart it. After using the software, it will automatically clean up the hosts file. For frequent use, it’s recommended to create a shortcut or set it to run on startup. Remember to only download from the official website to avoid viruses.

Additionally, I’ve created a new Discord server. The name and avatar are still undecided. Feel free to suggest ideas.
