【Open-source self-recommendation】BYDTIX desktop player—feel free to keep improving it and download and use it! macOS version added for the first time!

Highlights

  • Supports Bilibili, YouTube, Douyin, TikTok, Instagram, and Xiaohongshu, with all six sites sharing a unified player, downloader, favorites, history, and playback-memory system
  • Supports homepage recommendations, keyword search, direct playback via URL, playlist detail pages, and a slide-out playlist panel in the player
  • Displays video update times on the homepage, search page, playlist, and player (when provided by the data source)
  • Full subtitle support: enumerates Bilibili AI subtitles and all YouTube manual/automatic subtitles; the dropdown lists commonly used tracks, while the complete list with search is available for selecting others
  • Added a clear “Playlists” entry to the top toolbar for viewing the current and saved playlists directly
  • The “Play URL” panel retains recently played URLs, which can be clicked to replay them directly
  • After playing a single video, the author’s works playlist can be generated in the background without blocking first-frame playback; moving to the trending section on the right during playlist parsing displays a loading status
  • The player’s slide-out playlist panel on the right provides “Playlist” and “Comments” tabs, with comments loaded asynchronously on demand
  • Uses libmpv for playback, supporting pause, stop, fullscreen, picture-in-picture, quality switching, playback speed, subtitles, and automatic hiding of the control panel
  • Supports Esc to exit fullscreen, Z/X to adjust playback speed, and the mouse wheel to adjust volume; volume and speed indicators are shown in the center of the screen
  • Supports discovering DLNA playback devices on the local network and remotely casting online videos and locally downloaded media
  • The casting pipeline has been reinforced for long videos with automatic reconnection after upstream interruptions, protocol-header completion, and sliding token renewal
  • Playback shortcuts can be viewed, modified, disabled, checked for conflicts, and restored to defaults on the settings page
  • Built-in download queue with concurrent downloads, pause, resume, deletion, completed-download replay, and completion toast notifications
  • The newest tasks appear at the top of the download list, with batch pause/start/delete operations supported for selected items or the current filtered range
  • Cookie “Auto-detect” selects logged-in browsers separately for each site; failures to read cookies clearly indicate the reason, and a Cookie configuration guide is provided on first launch
  • If browser Cookie decryption fails during a download, the app automatically retries with another browser
  • Portable browsers set as the system default browser can also be detected; Cookie databases are located by absolute path
  • Update packages and FFmpeg installers strictly verify the source domain, size, and SHA256; archives reject path-traversal entries
  • Before upgrading, the app detects the local operating system and CPU architecture and displays them on the “About” page, selecting only installers compatible with the machine; the architecture is checked once more against the filename and PE header before launch
  • After an online upgrade finishes downloading, the app can close automatically and launch the installer; the portable version supports automatic extraction, replacement, and restart after exiting
  • Windows standard installers and the portable version include Deno; the enhanced version additionally includes FFmpeg and FFprobe, so no extra JS runtime configuration is needed after installation
  • Runtime configuration, the database, logs, and the download directory are all stored in %LocalAppData%\Tube_Ultimate_Player
  • The first Linux release targets x86_64 on X11/XWayland; enhanced AppImage/DEB release builds have been discontinued in favor of Fedora RPM and COPR distribution

Usage recommendations:

  1. First, install Firefox and log in to the six BYDTIX websites separately;
  2. Then launch the app, open the settings, and configure the cookies using automatic detection;

Notes:

  1. A JS engine and FFmpeg are required. If you do not have them, download the bundled all-in-one version;
  2. The macOS version has not been verified due to the lack of a suitable environment. If you have one, please help verify it.

“播载器”? A new word?

A player and downloader, shortened to “playloader”!
