.cd registry has finally gone completely down

(ps: It seems to have recovered)

Sad

:05-hahaha:

Just a few days ago, they said it could still be used after expiring. Now it’s dead.

It’s like this—it’s frequently hit by DDoS attacks.
Back in April, or sometime around then, I posted that the DDoS attacks were severe, so the server was migrated from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to France.
Even Hei-ge doesn’t know how to put Cloudflare CDN protection in place.

Could you also clean up the expired ones while fixing it this time?

Did it stop parsing?

We’ll just ignore this vulnerability altogether.

I strongly suspect they got killed because they didn’t update PHP (as far as I know, they use PHP too

WHMCS.
I reckon a whole bunch of small IDC providers will be driven to suicide over the next few days.

ysss.cc.cd
No problem

I’m not using the second-level domain CD anymore either. Thank goodness, thank goodness.

That’s pretty normal too—probably no one is managing it at all. A domain that hasn’t been renewed with the .cd registrar for over 600 days can still resolve normally. (People on Bilibili also said it was actually renewed normally, but the WHOIS expiration date for the guys managing .cd domains is updated by manually editing the data. Since it hasn’t been changed, lookups show it as expired.)

Surely that free domain isn’t unusable now too, right? A lot of my friends, like @meng_xiong here on the site, and my own site, use that domain.

cc.cd was not affected

I’ll go take a look.

It seems to be true.

This registry is being way too laissez-faire.
