Each Gmail account actually comes with two available email addresses
If your email is [email protected], then [email protected] belongs to you as well, and:
- Automatically activated, no setup required
- Can receive and send emails
- Points to the same inbox, emails won’t be split
This domain was initially used to solve trademark issues: in Germany, Russia, and Poland, the “Gmail” trademark was occupied (for example, in Poland it was registered by a group of poets called “GMAiL”), so Google used @googlemail.com in these countries.
Although the trademark issue has since been resolved, these two domains still work together! ![]()
