In previous articles, I shared how to install the 99CND control panel, detailed explanations of the 99CDN control panel and license binding, how to configure 99CND parsing management, and how to set up 99CDN nodes. Today, I'll continue by sharing how to configure 99CDN's region management and certificate settings.
Region management is the core logical unit through which 99CDN implements traffic scheduling and resource isolation. Within the system's resource hierarchy, a region is not only the carrier of scheduling strategies but also the key link connecting business sites and node groups. The quality of your region configuration directly determines the global distribution performance and response speed of the CDN. Today, with a combination of text and images, I’ll share how to scientifically configure region management and SSL certificates to help you deeply optimize distribution efficiency.
I. Region Management
- Log in to the 99CDN control panel and click on Region Management.
- Click Add Region.
- You can set the region name as you like, then click Confirm.
After clicking Confirm, the following prompt will appear: - Click Go Now.
Since I set both the access domain and the conversion domain to the same domain name. - Click Edit.
- Select the node group based on your needs—you can choose an edge group or upstream group according to your requirements.
For load balancing, you can also add multiple node groups. Conflict arbitration mechanism: If a user request matches multiple policies at the same time (for example, both “United States” and “United Kingdom”), the system will execute the policy with the smaller value first. Since I only set up one edge group, I’ll just configure one here. - Click Confirm, and that’s it—the configuration is complete:
II. Certificate Management
I won’t go into detail here on how to apply for a certificate. If you’re unsure, you can refer to my earlier post: How Beginners Can Apply for a Domain and Certificate
- Click Certificate Management and select Certificate List.
- If you don’t have a certificate, you can click Apply for Certificate.
I previously applied for a certificate on the overseas cloud server VMRack, so I’ll click Upload Certificate. Click Confirm, and your certificate will be uploaded.
Summary
Region management and certificate configuration in 99CDN are designed with great user-friendliness, significantly lowering the operational barrier. However, a special reminder: when configuring region management, the choice of ‘node group’ is crucial. This not only directly defines the system’s traffic scheduling paths but also determines the depth of resource isolation, making it the core variable affecting overall distribution performance.
Once you understand the logic of nodes and regions, you’ve already laid a solid foundation for your CDN architecture. In the next article, we’ll dive into the most critical hands-on section—detailed analysis of 99CDN site management configuration. Stay tuned!!!
