VPS8.ZZ.CD: Some introductions and announcements.

The VPS8 project actually began because of some testing. So far, we’ve already made over 1,000 commits.

Looking back, what makes me happiest is that a lot of users really like and continue to use our service.

Because of this, we’ve been constantly fixing bugs, developing new features, optimizing details, and improving the user experience lately.

In addition to the original system capabilities, we’ve added a lot of practical features over time.

Currently, VPS8 includes:

• Subdomain distribution

• Dynamic DNS (DDNS), supporting one-click scripts and Lucky

• Domain hosting (one-stop DNS resolution with support for @ root domains and DNSSEC)

• Email routing (a new way to receive corporate domain emails)

• Wildcard certificate (one-click application)

• Tunnel (a new choice for intranet tunneling)

• OpenAPI (full support for DNS resolution, certificate application, download, and renewal)

• Check-in system (active users can redeem points for balance through check-ins)

• VPS purchase (supports balance payment)

• Subdomain distribution (users can distribute their own idle root domains)

• NS smart checks (nameserver detection and cleanup for hosted DNS and VPS8 DNS)

• Domain health (domain usage status and security scans)

• Third-party login (supports Google / GitHub / NodeLoc)

• Human verification (supports multiple real-time verification methods)

• And many more features that are still being improved

To provide a more stable service, we’ve also made a lot of infrastructure improvements, such as:

• Integrating WAF

• Using GitHub backups

• Configuring DNS master-slave

• Separating services like Tunnel and MailRouting for deployment

• Migrating the database to a dedicated server

These measures have had a clear effect:

Both stability and access speed have improved significantly.

Thank you all for your support during this time.

The project has been online for less than two months, but we’ve already gained thousands of users and are hosting tens of thousands of domains and tens of thousands of DNS records.

Although we are still far from our goal of “hundreds of thousands of hosted domains,”

I firmly believe that as long as our service is easy to use, stable, and user-friendly, we’ll gradually earn more recognition.

Additionally, there are two things I wanted to update everyone on:

  1. About subdomain distribution

Because some domains distributed by certain users have had stability issues,

I’ve temporarily suspended new registrations for user-distributed domains, but existing users’ records are unaffected.

A reminder:

If the user modifies the root domain’s nameserver, the system will automatically clear the relevant DNS records.

If your business depends on these resolutions, please check in time and make adjustments as needed.

  1. About the check-in feature

So far, through check-in points exchanges, we’ve already deployed over 200 VPS instances.

However, we’ve also noticed that quite a few users are using scripts or bots to check in automatically.

This not only undermines fairness, but also violates platform rules.

We hope people stick around because they really use and like the platform, not just for the rewards from automated tools.

If we find such activity, we may directly ban the account.

Finally, just a note:

All VPS8 services are currently free and offered purely out of passion.

What we need most is not anything else, but your support, feedback, and sharing, so more people can discover, enjoy, and use VPS8.

Thank you again for your ongoing support!

Thanks a lot, boss!

Thank you so much for all your hard work. The way you manage project risks is truly impressive. I hope you’ll keep it going.

Supporting the pro—use it and treasure it while you can.

Personal opinion: The subdomain suffixes officially operated by VPS8 can be displayed on the homepage, while domains freely distributed by users could be placed on a separate page and shown with lower priority — or even placed on a completely independent subsite with a separate front end, apart from the main VPS8 site. It’s hard to avoid situations where someone running a certain suffix is just doing it for fun, which unavoidably could further affect the reputation of the entire platform. However, this is actually not something VPS8 can fully control, so displaying officially operated subdomains and user-operated subdomains in separate sections should help reduce the platform’s exposure to such issues to some degree. You can refer to the display method used by FreeDNS, for example: Domain Registry : Page 1 of 233.

Supporting you, boss—thanks a lot!

There is currently a review process for user-distributed subdomains.

Thanks a lot, I’m already using it.

I recently noticed that the SSL score for my domain is only 80 points. How does the domain health scoring system work?
