How do you pass GCP phone SMS verification?

To use antigravity, verification is required, and trying to get free GCP credits for $5 a month doesn’t work either. So frustrating :xhj17:

Looks like without an overseas phone number, you can’t even do SMS verification…

(And it’s not about using SMS services, otherwise I’d just go use one of those)

I’ve figured it out now, check the best answer for details

Mainland China phone numbers can receive Google verification codes. See if you can select +86; if not, try using an SMS service (there’s a free SMS bot on Telegram—someone from MJJ already posted about it).

It’s about sending a verification code for validation, not receiving one. :xhj17:

+86 numbers can send international texts, it’s just that the SMS fee isn’t cheap.

I’ve used this one and it’s pretty good (not an affiliate link).

Is it asking you to scan a code and send a text message? That’s really troublesome…

Yes.

Just making a note, I’ll try it out tomorrow.

You can try downloading the Google app and use the app’s QR code scanner. With the app’s scanner, you can bypass the SMS verification that comes after registration. I’ve set up several Anti-Gravity accounts this way.

This is such a hassle.

Log in to this account on your phone, download Chrome, and use its Lens feature to scan—it doesn’t require any extra verification.

What is the $5 monthly GCP credit? Can someone share more details?

It was that developer perk, I think it was $10—I mistyped it…:xhj27:
