Preface
Nowadays, more and more services are opening up APIs and tokens specifically for Agents.
For example: https://zerops.io
So, is it possible for an Agent to follow a tutorial to complete the entire relatively “complex” workflow?

Prerequisites
Setting up Hermes Agent with tencent/hy3:free Model
First, you need to install Hermes. A typical VPS with 2GB memory is enough.
Installation guide: https://zelikk.blogspot.com/2026/04/hermes-agent-oracle-vps-ubuntu-root.html
Some details have changed compared to the latest installation scripts, but you can also look up other updated guides on your own.
2GB RAM VPS:
Dedirock LA datacenter $9.88/year
Hermes officially provides a free model: tencent/hy3:free
How-to guide: https://zelikk.blogspot.com/2026/04/free-mimimo-v2-pro-omni-hermes-stripe.html
At the time of the tutorial, the free model was mimo-v2-pro, but now you just select hy3.
Github API token
Reference guide: https://zelikk.blogspot.com/2026/07/github-api-token-hermes-agent.html
Zerops API token
Registering and logging in to Zerops is straightforward.
Go to https://app.zerops.io/settings/token-management
Click Generate Personal Token
Name your token (whatever you like)
Note that the token is only shown once, so make sure to save it somewhere else.
Practice
Tell your Agent:
You now have a token for https://zerops.io
ipTD76oeYW_9MgBAYqkdQuvafPR8rdF0WWk7FPSBud58KzrVzFlNrUEm4xfkoH9g-p
Save it in your own .env
Read the official documentation and learn how to use the API.
You now have a token for https://github.com
ghp_Wb2HtggrKkENraKupAlZ8iid8Bq7Jg3u2sKW
Save it in your own .env
Follow the steps in
https://blog.notett.com/post/2026/07/202607-zerops-free/to complete the project deploymentYour .env includes the tokens for both https://zerops.io and https://github.com
Then your Agent will get busy doing all the work, …
And here’s the result:
Next, the Agent says, according to the blog, the next step is for me (the user) to generate a node:

Since I still want to save effort, I ask the Agent:
Why do I have to do the following steps manually? Can you help me?
Remote web terminal → npm start → copy the base64 subscription; then run cat .tmp/sub.txt to view it.
The Agent searches the official documentation for a while and comes back telling me it’s able to SSH in and run the command.
Then it gives me the content of sub.txt.

Postscript
Here are two issues I encountered:
- If your Agent creates the project in the EU Central (prg1) region,
There are two ways to instruct it. Just pick one:
a) Tell your Agent:
US West (sea1) is available, just create it there.
b) Or tell your Agent how to query available regions via the API:
curl ‘https://api.app-prg1.zerops.io/api/rest/public/client/{{clientId}}/settings’ -H ‘authorization: Bearer ***********’ | jq “.locationList”
- How to SSH in:
Generate a WireGuard key pair, POST /project/{id}/vpn to exchange configs, use wg-quick to set up a VPN tunnel connecting to the project’s private network (US West).
Then SSH directly into the container (10.1.8.10, zerops user; VPN-based authentication, no SSH key needed).
